A 27-year-old man was shot to death after an argument with a girlfriend in an apartment building in west suburban Park Ridge, authorities said Friday.
About 5:30 p.m.
Friday, police responded to the 700 block of South Oak Avenue for a report of a shooting, said Chicago police Lt.
The man, who was in his 40s, was found at the apartment building with a gunshot wound, Vance said.
He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he later died.
No one else was injured in the shooting, Vance added.
Police had been called to the apartment complex about 10:15 p.t. for a complaint of an argument between the man and his girlfriend, Vance explained.
The man said he was going to go to a friend’s apartment building and when he got there, the girlfriend left, he said.
Neighbors heard gunshots and called police.
A short time later, officers arrived at the same address to find a person in a green pickup truck with a handgun.
The vehicle had been abandoned nearby, Vance wrote.
Neighbor John Wachs, a spokesman for the Illinois State Police, said the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police identified the man as Brandon Scott Boggs, of the 7500 block of North Clark Street in Park Ridge.
He was pronounced deceased at the hospital, Vance told reporters.
