Jewelry store owner and seller Kay Penney is showing off some of her jewelry collection, including a $1 million ring with a $10,000 diamond.
“It’s really cool,” Penney said of the $1m diamond in a video posted to her Instagram account.
“It was in a piece of jewelry that we had bought for our daughter, and we put it in the ring.”
The ring was sold on eBay for $2.5 million on Tuesday.
Penney said she bought the diamond because it was a diamond of her own that she loved and that was in perfect condition.
The diamond was bought in 2011 by her sister and is a rare piece.
“I had to have a diamond for my little girl because she’s very, very special,” Penneys sister told NBC News.
Her jewelry sales helped the family make ends meet and make it through a hard time in their home in Queens, New York.
“It was hard,” Penelly said of her daughter’s death.
“And it’s just a sad day, but at the same time, I’m really happy to see her go.
She was a very happy person, she loved her kids very much, she had a good life, and she just had a big heart.”
Penney has also sold pieces to other families.
The Penneys said they have received many compliments from others who are also looking to sell jewelry.
And they hope their jewelry can help those families get back on their feet and stay on their road to recovery.
